Residence Hall Student Association Committees
Current committees are in Italics.
Budget & Finance Committee:
This Committee is organized by the treasurer and functions mostly as the decision makers. They assist the treasurer in making decisions on hall funding request forms. This program is wonderful because it allows the AC members to see where the funds are going, and allows them to have a say in the direction of the funds.
Community Service Committee:
This committee is run by the secretary and the Public Relations E-board members. This program was formed to help the RHSA become more active in the community that we live in. Members on this committee meet to come up with, and investigate volunteering opportunities around the town of New Paltz. This committee also works to plan fundraising events for large-scale service projects that the RHSA will become part of.
Programming Committee:
This committee is organized by the Vice President and works as a wonderful help in providing successful program on campus. Members on this committee assist the VP in making decisions and coming up with ideas for programs. This committee also becomes a great source of help when it is time for the programs. They help with the preparation of the programs by assisting with the set up, the running, and then the cleanup.
Spirit Committee:
This committee is run by the Co-NCC's. Even though this committee is most important during times of the conferences, it plays an important role as a great way to keep the New Paltz spirit alive through out the year. The spirit committee meets to come up with new ideas as to how to spread the New Paltz spirit across the campus in many different ways, starting with Spirit Weekend in the beginning of the first semester. Around conference time his committee is busy trying to spread the spirit and liveliness to the delegation and to help create new forms of spirit both on campus and regionally.
Telecommunications Committee:
This committee is run by the President. This committee was formed this year [Fall 2000], in response to questions concerning our current telephone rates, This committee gathers information from colleges and universities across the nation comparing local and long distances rates among various phone carriers.
